event!

SUDDENLY, YOU'RE STUCK IN A DARK CLOSET WITH...

Yeah, we went there. Blame Endy. You know the dealio: you're stuck in a closet - literally - with someone. A stranger, a person you hate, love, love but won't ever admit it-/shot

ANYWAY where the closet opens up to or how you even get out of there is all up to you. Maybe it's a ~*magical*~ closet, maybe it's an average ol' room. Just get creative!

Adachi! Stop touching things!

[Again with the loud, panicked whispering. He quickly pulls Adachi away from the panel, but not before the door slides open to reveal... tanks of bright yellow, bubbling liquid with mysterious, shadowed figures inside them. The tanks are lined against the wall in the circular room, with a giant control panel pillar in the middle.]

...The hell?

Whoaaaa.

[Fascinated, Adachi pulls away from Dojima - or rather, pulls the other man with him as he takes a few steps into the area. There is a dim yellow light cast on the entire space, and the door slides shut behind them - but he's hardly paying attention. He already has his face up against one of the tanks, blinking at the creature inside, curled up in a fetal position.]

Are these...aliens?

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
What'd I say about touching things?

[Never mind that curiosity naturally arises in this sort of situation, and even as Dojima tugs Adachi back again, his gaze is up at the creature Adachi is staring at himself. It's almost grotesque, and certainly disturbing, and... missing an eye.]

...We probably shouldn't be in here.

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Adachi turns back to Dojima with a skeptical look, pointing his thumb over his shoulder.]

Don't be such a wet blanket, Dojima-san. This thing isn't going to do anything, it's dead and stuck in a test tube, for crying out loud!

[Apparently not dead enough. Just as Adachi says it, the thing opens its eye, and slaps a tentacle onto the glass behind Adachi, right near his head.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Guess Dojima's police training hasn't all been forgotten - his first reaction is grabbing Adachi by the arm and pulling him away from the glasses. (That is, after a moment of staring at the thing twitching back to life.) The tank proves to be sturdy, though, when the alien claws against the glass, not even making a dent or scratch. Of course, Dojima's seen ten too many sci-fi movies to trust it that easily.]

You were saying?

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Adachi nearly stumbles, but he's too used to being yanked by the chain by Dojima, and he manages to regain his footing before he slams face-first into another tube. He blinks back at the monster - looked a little like their bubbly friend back in the hall, actually.]

...L-like I said! It's stuck in a test tube! C-can't do anything!

[Doesn't stop him from subconsciously pressing a little away from the alien and into Dojima, though.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if they can't...

[Dojima looks around. Suddenly, all the creatures are awake, all staring at the two intruders in the room. Some claw and bang at the glass, some try to make sounds, others just gaze intently. Dojima finds himself moving towards the middle of the room, pulling Adachi along.]

I don't think we should risk it.

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okay. Now it's starting to look a little too much like those space horror movies, and Adachi's not stupid, man. He knows scrawnier guy always dies first in those types of movies. He's already moving towards the exit before Dojima starts pulling him towards it faster, and soon enough, they're both scrambling out of that ominous room. The door slides shut, and this time Adachi keeps his hands away from the button panel.]

...L-let's go home! Man, I'm beat! Exhausted!

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Way too much like the space horrors. Dojima dashes out after him, and good thing, because right after they get out, there's a crash from the inside. He stares at the door for a moment, then starts heading down the hall.]

Y-yeah, let's go.

i don't know how teleporting works in this series; help

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wow, Dojima, have you ever seen Adachi move this fast - 'cause suddenly, he's ahead of you, and turning down that left corridor like Captain Baldalot suggested. He doesn't look back.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, hold on!

[He can keep up for the most part, only falling a little behind.]

Where're the damn teleporters..?

I'M JUST GONNA MAKE THEM LIKE THE STAR TREK ONES OK

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[At the end of the turn, there is a big, flat, round platform, on which there are smaller, glass-covered indents, about a shoulder's width in diameter. Adachi approaches it slowly, just in case it decides to beam some aliens right in as he steps up.]

How are we supposed to figure out this thing without some sort of control panel? Do we just tell it, 'Hey, I want to get back to my apartment' or 'Hey, I'd like to get in Picard's pants please-'

[Adachi lets things go very easily, obviously.]
Edited 2010-04-19 00:16 (UTC)

LOL that's what I had in mind anyway

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Dojima steps up on the one next to Adachi, looking around for anything that might help them.]

Would you stop bringing up Picard? There's gotta be something here...

[On the wall next to him, Dojima finds the controls. There's a few buttons in that scribble language, and a digital pad next to it for what looks like scanning your hand. Carefully, Dojima raises his hand, and presses it against the device. It says, in a stereotypical, sci-fi robo-woman voice, "Scanning... Scanning... Subject unknown. Origin: Dimension Infinity. Return to last destination?"]

beam me up, scotty

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Adachi jolts a little at the sound of the voice, turning to look at the ceiling. Even if the question wasn't for him, he answers.]

Yeah! Back to Infinity. But don't...like, dump us into a freezing pool or in a junk pile or something.

SULU GO TO WARP

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
["BZZT. Voice is not that of the subject's." There's a pause, and then it asks for confirmation again. "Return to last destination?"]

Should I go first, then you aft-

["Confirmation: check. Activating teleportation."]

Wait, what?

[The platform starts glowing in a slow pulse, a responding one on the ceiling pulsing in time.]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
[A beam of light engulfs Dojima, and just before it turns blinding, he can probably make out Adachi's eyes widening and his mouth opening to say-]

W-wait! You're not gonna leave me h-

[A rush of noise, like running water, and then it's gone. The next time Dojima opens his eyes, he's back in...bed?! And Adachi is nowhere to be seen.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
[After crashing onto a (thankfully) soft surface, Dojima opens his eyes. Oddly enough, in his own bed at his own home in Infinity, in a sunny morning. (Did he let Adachi spend the night again?) He throws his feet over the edge of the bed quickly, looking around. No Adachi.]

...That idiot better figure it out.

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Just as Dojima is about to get up, the bed dips behind up as some sudden weight that hadn't been there prior lands. Adachi looks somewhat startled, eyes wide and arms above his head.]

...Whoa.

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Dojima stares at him for a moment, settling back down on the bed, before something occurs to him.]

...Was that a dream?

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Adachi makes a face.]

How could we have the same exact dream? I don't know about you, but I don't dream about spaceships in space all that much.

[Well, maybe except for that one time involving anti-gravity and space suits and- ...well, that's for another time. Right. Moving on.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
[...wait, space suits and what?]

I was just checking.

[A sigh, and Dojima flops back against the pillows. He never realized just how exhausting it was, busting out of a closet puns aside, avoiding purple tentacle-y monsters, seeing a sci-fi movie legend, running into tanks full of aliens and getting teleported across dimensions.]

At least we're back.

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Adachi raises an arm, points at the door.]

That's what we think, until we open that door and suddenly the entire house is floating in space. Like in the Dawnlight Zone!

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Dojima rolls his eyes, and reluctantly gets up.]

I'm sure that's not the case.

[Oh-so-confidently, he walks over to the door, getting ready to open it.]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
...Wouldn't you rather come back here?

[Adachi pats the bed.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Dojima's already halfway there. He looks between the door and Adachi, stopping and crossing his arms in thought, unsure if Adachi is being sincere, or is just afraid to find out what's behind the door.]

What if it turns out to be like Dawnlight Zone after all?
