A wild EVENT has appeared!

LOST: The Fagsona Episode

That's right, folks. You're stranded on a small tropical island (making run-ins more likely), with the remnants of a plane lying on the beach. Your task: Survive. Maybe you'll find other stranded passengers on the shore. Maybe those huge ass coconut crabs remind you of a puzzle, professah. Maybe you'll even fine some sort of time-warping tunnel that'll teleport you right onto the S. S. Enterprise in the jungle - who knows?

...Actually, I have no idea where the well is.

[With a huff of frustration - didn't think he'd be making those Dojima-like sounds either, Adachi sidesteps Phoenix (but not without a maybe-intentional shove at the shoulder), making his way down the main street of the town. It's not a big place - other than this one lane, there isn't much to the settlement, and at the very end, the road curves off to the right, where there is a small clearing with a few stray blades of grass sticking out from the otherwise-parched land. There, in the center, is a stereotypical stone well.

Adachi leans over it, whistling low.]

Pretty dark in there. Think you can shine some light down there with your sheriff star?

What are you talking about? I'm no sheriff.

[After a quick glance around, Phoenix picks up a rope to the side of the well. This'll have to do. He starts tying it around one of the posts, triple knotting it for security. (Phoenix certainly doesn't trust this guy to hold it, or even keep watch on the rope.)]

Alright. I think that should do it.

[Adachi is still looking down the dark shaft with distaste. Environments like that...usually don't bode very well, and he's seen the movies - the police officer or authority figure always gets killed first. Nuh-uh.]

You're...gonna go down first, right? I'll be right behind you.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You can stay, y'know.

[Taking hold of the rope, Phoenix heaves one foot onto the stone edge, tugging on the rope. Nice and secure. He swings his other leg over, starting to lower himself into the well.]

...Don't just shoot into the well if you hear things, though.

Not while my only ticket outta here is strapped to your wrist.

[Waiting until Phoenix is a good distance down the rope, Adachi carefully climbs over the ledge (falling down is not his preferred method of travel when he can help it), and slowly slides down the rope. It's difficult to measure distance in the dark where he can't see, so he can't help it if he slides too far down, and his heel nearly knocks Phoenix's hat clear off his head.]

Whoa- whoops, is that you?

[His voice echoes when he speaks, and judging from how the sound carries, this well is deeper than it looked.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oof.

[His hat doesn't fall off this time, but it does get knocked askew - not to mention, a light is suddenly coming from the mouth of that face on his pin. Kind of like a miner's hat.]

Hey. How about that.

[With a laugh, he just continues downward. It's a good thirty seconds before his feet hit the ground, splashing in a small puddle of water. Huh. So there's gotta be water in here somewhere. It didn't look like that town had gotten much rain.]

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Heads up!

[Without waiting for Phoenix to confirm that he had stepped away, Adachi slides the rest of the way down, faster now that he's sure there's a ground to slide down to. The rapidness of it splashes the water to their knees.]

Gross, there's still water down here? I thought that old hag said-

[He was about to lean against a wall to brush the excess water off, or to at least roll his pants legs up, but as always, Adachi chooses the wrong option. The particular patch of wall he chooses isn't a wall at all but the very opening that water should have entered the bottom of the well from, and he goes down with another splash.]

[Phoenix raises an eyebrow. Probably impressed by Adachi's lack of foresight into where he was leaning. He walks over, holding out a hand, that beam of light shooting from his pin's mouth on his hat.]

You alright there, Officer Adachi?

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[That beam of light lands on his forehead - an uncharacteristically creased forehead of one Adachi Tohru, sitting back on the ground, uncomfortably wet. The water was cold. Wryly:]

I found a way out.

[Shivering a little, he gets back up. So much for saving himself the dampness anyway. There is the low, howling sound of air passing through the tunnel coming from behind him - nothing very inviting, but then again, the utter darkness wasn't either.]

Should have brought at least a flashlight or something.

[He takes a few steps into it.]

[With a shrug, Phoenix just pulls the hat from his head, folding it where the light shines in front of them. That's odd - the small bit of water in the well seems to be moving; in the same direction they're headed.]

I don't think they have flashlights in the old west.
