fess up, vico

While Adamo certainly had a habit of keeping people waiting, he was still a man of his word. He and Vico didn't have any missions to worry about for a good few days, so he took the opportunity to buy that wine he had mentioned to his partner a few weeks back. (Their previous missions had actually treated him pretty well, financially, but that was probably because he had sticky fingers when handling the nobler targets.) Vico had picky tastes, though, and the bottle he bought probably wasn't up to his par, but it would have to do. It wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive.

"Vico?" Adamo called as he emerged from the tunnel entrance, turning the corner. The bureau was always quiet by midday, the assassins usually away doing their assigned duties. (Except for a few unlucky ones in the armory who were cleaning. They must've angered Machiavelli.)

Vico chuckled, dropping back down. It wasn't often that he could lord this sort of knowledge over the self-proclaimed-much-more-worldly Adamo, and he clearly reveled in the advantage. "Oh, she was with the courtesans all right."

Vico smirked. "Reject you already, has she?" He clapped a hand on Adamo's shoulder. "Don't worry, maybe now the two of you can go visit together - I am sure you'd like that."

Vico instantly pulled a face, showing how entirely not nice he fancied that idea. Bianca, at times, struck him as more of a man than a woman, and imagining all three of them, including the (un)fortunate courtesan sandwiched between, was a trail of thought he quickly derailed himself from, for his own sake. "I pity the poor woman who would have to serve both of you at once."

"Maybe you would," Vico shot back, scoffing as he did the same. He had left most of his heavy armor back at Tiber Island, and for how lightly he was dressed, he could have easily passed for a civilian, save for the less-common hood that sat, pulled back, on his shoulders. Of course, a true assassin didn't have trouble blending in no matter what he was carrying on his body, but the two of them were in no need of going to such lengths right now. "Maybe you can ask the courtesan if you can have a turn in the middle. Or maybe she can doll you up, teach you the tricks of her trade. You would probably be of more use to us there!"

He shoved at Adamo's shoulder, hard enough to make him stumble forward a step or two but nothing more than that. "I doubt it," he retorted, stepping forward to kick off a nearby wall and pull himself back up. Adamo's turn at the 'seeking' part of their practice game could come later - the man was obviously too busy daydreaming to concentrate right now. "But maybe your precious handsome Spaniards might like that, no?"

Vico threw a look down and over his shoulder, standing on one leg atop one of the high pillars of the ruins. "You have terrible taste."

Vico promptly tripped over and fell into a pile of ruins.

There was a momentary pause - just long enough that one might begin to wonder exactly what had happened to Vico, if that fall had been dangerous, perhaps, if he had somehow managed to hit his head on the way down, but then it passed, and a heavy, brick-sized rock came flying toward Adamo's face. "You messed me up!"

"Figlio di puttana," Vico swore under his breath, never having had the most sparkly clean of mouths, as he pulled himself up from the rubble he had upset during his fall and brushing his civilian clothes off. Once again, he began the climb upwards, more nimble this time, being that it was the second go at it. "You better not be trying anything with Emiliana. She's not as barbaric as you and that she-man Bianca. She probably doesn't have any interest in that kind of thing." He paused, as he pulled himself up to the top of the broken pillar again, turning to sit on the uneven but stable surface, kicking off stray pieces of debris in his friend's direction. "You know, I asked her once, what she thought of you, and she said you 'seemed nice.'"

Another rock, so swiftly that one would have to wonder if Vico had it on hand just in case Adamo said something like that. "Watch what you are saying, idiota!"

Vico snubbed his nose down at Adamo. "Oh? And how are you so sure that I do? What are you now, the cupid of Romagna and Assassin on the side?"

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
He grew a little hot in the face. "Smiled? A mind-reader now, are you? You smile like that to half of Romagna, but I wouldn't say that you liked half of-"

He broke off, looking thoughtful.

...Actually.

Rubbing his chin, Vico made a thoughtful humming sound. "I forgot that you do want to get in half of Romagna's pants."
