Well. Not anymore. Besides, you never wore a hat as a lawyer.

But I'm not a lawyer anymore.

That doesn't mean you can get away with dressing like that.

[He's already searching through the racks for something that looks your size.]

I already have, you know. For a while. And was even made chair of the Jurist System Simulated Court Committee.

...No excuses.

[He picks out a suitable suit, then moves to the shirt/tie area. Hm... white shirt, of course, but what about the vest?]

[A sigh, and it seems like Phoenix is finally accepting his fate. ~~Such a pushy girlfriend, Edgey.~~ Hands in the pockets of his hoodie, he follows along, actually silent for once. No clever quips. ...Yet.]

[Well, he won't question the silence. Easier to find matching colors in. Finally he manages to pick out a navy, pin striped vest and a dark red tie to go with the suit.]

...Now, the dressing rooms are this way.

[Phoenix smiles, shoulders slumping.]

Looks like there's no changing your mind on this. Alright, lead the way.

[And he would salute, too, but he's sure Edgeworth wouldn't appreciate it.

...He does it anyway.]

[He just gives you a very unamused look. Honestly, sometimes you really act like a child 8|]

Here. And come and show me when you've got them on.

[He hands the clothes to Phoenix, pointing him in the direction of one of the changing stalls.]

Alright, alright.

[Taking them with a small nod, he walks on over. Sheesh, even the changing rooms are fancy. Ornate, framed mirrors and a plush bench, even adorned with velvet pillows. Really, it's like he's supposed to have a tea party in here. Or maybe a nap...

After a few more minutes of gaping at the decor and resisting the urge to sleep, Phoenix starts getting dressed. (Only they forgot shoes, so he's barefoot.) He considers leaving his hat on... But figures if he takes it off for once, he might save Edgeworth the stress, and he'll live a few years longer. (And now he owes Phoenix.)

So, he steps out, neatly dressed for once. Even if the top button is undone and the tie hanging low, it's certainly better than what he was wearing.]

Well?

...

[Hm. This outfit is a major, major improvement. And he's definitely glad to see the beanie go, too. The only thing wrong now is the shoes. They'd have to get those later, he supposed.]

Much better.

[He looks pleased at he buttons the top button and straightens the tie. Edgeworth has helped TRANSFORM HIM.]

Heh, really?

[Phoenix has the courtesy to even lift his chin up as he does, even if whoa, personal space, and man, he forgot how suffocating collared shirts felt. Oh well, he got used to it once upon a time, and could again, he supposes.]

You almost look respectable again.

[You just need a shave and some shoes. And he's not purposefully invading your space, man. He just doesn't want you looking sloppy.]

You shouldn't judge by looks, Edgeworth.

[It was such an improvement that he thought Edgey wouldn't notice. ): But his job's all about detail; guess he should've seen it coming. Oh well.

Phoenix catches his reflection in a nearby mirror, glancing himself over. It's rather reminiscent of his old outfit; just a tad more formal. He strikes an Edgeworthy pose in the mirror--crossing his arms, tilting his head just slightly with an unamused expression, and tapping his index finger against his arm.]

But a good first impression is important, wouldn't you say?

[...Hey, he sees what you're doing there. A small, wry smirk appears on his face. Make fun of him if you want, but Edgeworth actually thinks that's a good look for you.]

...I like it. What do you think? [Not that you really have a choice.]

People get enough impression just from hearing my name.

[Impressions of forging evidence, being a crooked lawyer, the whole deal. ...But soon enough his smile becomes less bitter (not that he really held ill-will towards anyone, now that justice was served ~~pun not intended~~), starting to take off the jacket.]

I like it also.

[Yep, he knows he has no choice, else he'll face the wrath of Edgey.]

Hmph.

[Yeah, whatever. He's glad you like the outfit though.]

Good. Then that's that. If everything fits correctly, which it seems to, we can purchase it and be on our way. Now, was that so difficult?

It was very difficult.

[And Phoenix is just being difficult by being a kidder.]

[Like always. Sigh. Edgeworth is amazed they've even made it to this point. Now, the only thing left is getting Wright to wear this on a day-to-day basis...]

[If Edgeworth is lucky, Phoenix will wear that at least once a month.

Soon enough, he's back to hobo mode, clothes thrown over his arm. Ahh, back to comfort. No offense, Edgeworth.]

So, just these?

[It better be on the day that they ~~go on a date~~ meet up each month, too.]

I think that should do it, don't you?

Phoenix smiles, adjusting the clothes. Even if he doesn't wear the outfit often, he still knows when someone's doing something out of their way for him.]
