[ There weren't many occasions that Dojima was called into work this late at night. Too bad the storm was doing everything it could to make sure he didn't make it. With the rain falling in violent sheets, the water had all but completely washed away a dirt-fill-- one that had been used to temporarily close a gap in the road. The crevice between the cracked cement now held nothing but pool of thick mud, which currently held a pretty firm grasp on back tires of Dojima's SUV. ]

...Just give it another push, will you? We're already late as it is.

E-eh? I'll get it dirty, though! I'm wet and I've got all this guck on me...

You already got the stuff all over the passenger's seat.

[He looks down at the seat, and resists for a few more seconds. (A few more - it'll be more sincere that way, look like I'm really reluctant.) Ultimately, though, he takes it, and even though it's bound to get dirty, seems to treat it careful as he shrugs his arms into the sleeves.]

...Thanks, sir. I'll clean it up before I return it.

Better that it's dry cleaned.

I'll spot you some money. You can get your own suit cleaned while your at it. Won't come in looking like a wrinkled mess for once.

[Being that Dojima is facing away, Adachi can't quite see his face, past the dim reflection in the glass (half-covered by his head, anyway). He still blinks at the back of the man's head, before another sneeze interrupts that.]

It'd be kind of a waste, wouldn't it? It doesn't matter for our shifts, and with the amount of running around we do...

[He makes an expression of distaste, but no one's looking, anyway.]

Yeah?

With that kind of logic we might as well be coming to work in shirts and sweatpants.

[He cracks a smile.]

Haha, you'd kill me if I pulled something like that, but it doesn't sound too bad.

Don't even try it.

It'd give Chief a shocker, though. Can't deny that that's a good idea.

[Tugging the jacket closer, Adachi grins into the collar, lets down his guard long enough to share that secret amusement at the chief's expense.]

Ha ha, you're right about that much.

Think I'm gonna take you advice from earlier and get some rest.

[He looks between the coat and his superior.]

Huh? Oh, uh...well, it's not so clean now, but you want your jacket back?

Nah, you hold on to it.

I'm not the one with the cold.

...Okay. Thanks.

Yeah, yeah. Wake me up if someone comes.
