event!

SUDDENLY, YOU'RE STUCK IN A DARK CLOSET WITH...

Yeah, we went there. Blame Endy. You know the dealio: you're stuck in a closet - literally - with someone. A stranger, a person you hate, love, love but won't ever admit it-/shot

ANYWAY where the closet opens up to or how you even get out of there is all up to you. Maybe it's a ~*magical*~ closet, maybe it's an average ol' room. Just get creative!

[Dojima sighs in response, but knows a gentle defeat when he sees one. (Rare for Adachi to let him get away with defeat and not flaunt it.) He follows silently behind.]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Gentle? What part of Adachi is gentle? Dojima should know better. He speaks up as the other man catches up, having expected as much.]

Don't worry, Dojima-san. I totally get your hesitation. I mean, hey, I'm sure my heart'd beat a little faster and I'd get a little antsy in my pants if I was meeting a long-time crush like Captain Baldhead too.

[He puts the back of his hand on his forehead, in a mock swoon.]

I mean, that shiny scalp!

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Shut up.

[He's probably used to it by now, judging by the punch to Adachi's shoulder that has enough force to be one of annoyance, yet not enough to be anything but play.]
Edited 2010-04-17 14:24 (UTC)

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ever melodramatic, Adachi winces in an imitation of pain, rubbing at his shoulder as he stumbles a few steps away from Dojima.]

Sheesh, no need to get physical!

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
What, it was barely a tap.

[So dismissive, Dojima. He just keeps walking.]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pettily, Adachi swerves his walk right into Dojima, jarring the other man in the shoulder right back. Afterward, he pretends nothing is out of the ordinary.]

Anyway, where do you think they keep the bridge? This place is a mess. There's no signs anywhere - it's worse than the country.

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oof- hey.

[Dojima's glare down at him is short-lived, before he looks back forward. Good thing, because just as Adachi mentions no signs, there's suddenly a signpost indicating which hall leads where! There's one to their left, right, and stairs going up. But...]

...What language is that?

[It looks like a mix of hieroglyphs, scribbles, and kindergarten handwriting.]
Edited 2010-04-17 15:48 (UTC)

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adachi comes to a stop beside Dojima, just staring at the odd writing. It sure as hell isn't Japanese, and past that, he only has a cursory understanding of English - but it sure as hell isn't that either.]

Y'think we should go back and find that octopus guy? Maybe he could read this and tell us what it means. I think he was speaking our language to us back there, right? And not some alien language where 'excuse me' actually means, 'I'm going to eat you in two seconds, tiny earthling?'

[Though the prospect of finding that thing isn't really appetizing. While they're both staring, neither of them exactly notice the few familiar figures coming towards them from the left hall - why, is that Captain Picard himself?]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure it spoke our language, but maybe it has one of those... universal translator things-

[Wait, hold that thought. Are those footsteps? Dojima turns to look and oh my god what is that Picard. brb shock]

...

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Great job, Dojima. Your first meeting with your favorite Captain is going to be in your coffee-mug-printed boxers.]

Universal translator things? Where'd you get that kind of a kooky idea idea from, another one of your sci-fi shows or some-

[Adachi doesn't notice until he looks up at Dojima and follows the other man's line of vision. He blinks too - he hadn't actually been expecting his joking to come true. As far as Picard and his crew are concerned, though, two Japanese men in boxers is nothing odd. In fact, the Captain amiably stops and salutes the two.]

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dojima dumbly salutes in response. There's no doubt about it - that's the Captain Picard. From his bald, shiny head to his pristine uniform. The most the two get is an odd look up and down before the captain returns on his way, unconcerned. Once he's out of earshot, Dojima finally speaks.]

...You've gotta be kidding me.

[Wait, shouldn't you have asked where you are or how you got here, Dojima?]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dojima should be thanking his lucky stars that Adachi himself was too dumbstruck to say anything that could potentially embarrass them also. After Dojima speaks, Adachi turns to stare at him.]

Shouldn't you go...I don't know, ask for the guy's autograph? Have him sign your arm or something? Or...

[He glances down, and then tugs at Dojima's waistband without any hesitation whatsoever despite the fact that they're in a public hallway in space.]

...Your boxers? 'Picard was here' or 'To Ryotaro, with love, Picard' across the back.
Edited 2010-04-17 16:28 (UTC)

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dojima snaps out of it at the tug of his boxers, swatting Adachi's hand away and taking a step back.]

Stop that.

[It's hard to say if his face is tinted slightly because of Adachi, or the sheer fact that he ran into his sci-fi idol while wearing boxers.]

We should ask how to get out of here.

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
...Sure!

[Much too easy - that should've been a hint. Adachi promptly cups his hand over his mouth and shouts down the hall.]

Hey! Captain Picard! My friend wants to ask you something!

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
H-hey, what are you-!

[It's a loud whisper, Dojima looking a little panicked. He looks even more startled with Picard stops and turns, looking at him curiously.]

...Er.

[A pause, before Dojima finally gets up the nerve to speak.]

That is... how do you get out of here?

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adachi fights down the urge to do something ridiculous like kiss Dojima right there, in the middle of the hall, in front of Picard - but he doesn't fancy getting his face socked in today.

The captain, obliviously amiable, does not notice this ill-will at all, however. He simply asks to clarify, 'Get out of where?']

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
The ship. We're, uh... not from around here.

[The most Dojima notices is the odd look on Adachi's face, and the sudden silence, for having just mockingly called on Picard himself.

The captain points down the left hall; the one he had just come from. 'Head that way, and you'll find some teleporters. One of the men there should be able to beam you out of here.']

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[As if the thought spurs him into motion, Adachi salutes curtly at Picard with a disarming smile - an act, and maybe now, Dojima knows enough that he can actually see through it.]

Thanks, sir! Sorry for disturbing you. Man, you don't know how lost we got trying to figure out our way 'round the ship, but you're a real lifesaver.

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dojima certainly does see through it, and it's probably why he grabs him by the back of the shirt, dragging him along.]

Thanks, Captain.

[He gives a salute in passing, Picard heading back the opposite way with a nod. Once they're out of range, he lets go of Adachi.]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, hey, hey! What was that for?

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Saving the captain from your sarcasm.

[So noble, Dojima!]

You are a jerk.

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-17 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Sarcasm?

[He blinks innocently at Dojima.]

I have no idea what you're talking about. That was all heartfelt thanks, right there. Sheesh, you thank a guy and someone's gotta call it sarcasm. Just can't get a break around here...

:333c also sorry about the weird format and lack of suitable icon; mobile

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I've ever seen you honestly thank someone. [Dojima rolls his eyes, looking back down the hall.] We should get going, though. [Although he is a little sad to leave the Enterprise... and his secret love Picard .]

[identity profile] nowheresman.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
...Already?

[I mean, c'mon, how often are they going to be on the Enterprise. Even in Infinity.]

You don't wanna...look around first? Think about it - we're not really going to get the chance to see what it's like again. Unless watching reruns on the sci-fi channel's enough excitement for you.

[identity profile] juneslater.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
And mess something up?

[Not that Dojima would be the one to mess things up; of course it wouldn't be him.]
