A wild EVENT has appeared!

LOST: The Fagsona Episode

That's right, folks. You're stranded on a small tropical island (making run-ins more likely), with the remnants of a plane lying on the beach. Your task: Survive. Maybe you'll find other stranded passengers on the shore. Maybe those huge ass coconut crabs remind you of a puzzle, professah. Maybe you'll even fine some sort of time-warping tunnel that'll teleport you right onto the S. S. Enterprise in the jungle - who knows?

[Phoenix looks mighty disappointed that you went and took his hat there, pardner.

A shrug, and he waltzes into town right behind Adachi. It's desolate and quiet - only the sound of the wind, and a few windchimes. (Kinda eerie.) There's also a rusty old windvane that creaks now and then.]

We can just use the teleporter thing again.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Putting the hat on his head (because he's not going to put it on Phoenix's head since the guy already has his hat, and he doesn't want to just drop it anywhere), Adachi slides a hand to his waist. The gun is still there, and the slight weight of the metal in his fingers makes him feel a little better about the uncanny quiet around here.]

You know how to work that th-

[A saloon door creaks. Adachi jumps at least a foot in the air, tripping back into Phoenix.]

Augh!

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Phoenix is calm as ever, even as he almost falls over, a hand landing on top of Adachi's head. Well, the hat, rather, but it keeps it from falling off in any case. His glance raises to the saloon in front of them.]

...Huh. There's no one there.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Right on cue, a little old, shriveled woman peeks her head out from the door. Adachi, his own hand on the other side of his dashing cowboy hat, stares as she toddles out. "Sh-sherriff? she asks, hopefully.

It takes a few seconds for him to register that she's directing that towards him.]

...Huh? What? Me- oh! No, this is uh, his!

[Yanking the hat off, he shoves it at Phoenix's chest.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
...Oh. Never mind.

[A blink, and Phoenix settles the hat back on his head without so much as an objection. He turns to the old lady, who must have terrible vision if she doesn't see something off about their clothes.]

Sheriff Phoenix Wright at your service. What seems to be the problem, ma'am?

[And he's playing along.]

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adachi shoots Phoenix an incredulous stare. What a con, he thinks, ironically enough.

The woman twines her hands together, looking nervous. Her eyes dart from side to side, like she's anticipating some sort of ambush any second now. "It's...it's the well, sir. People have been leaving the town since the water supply dried up, and we think there's a demon down there stopping the water from comin' up." She turns her eyes up at them, and the plea is obvious - Please fix it. "We would appreciate it if you and your sidekick could help us out."

Wait a minute.]

H-hey, hold up! Sidekick?

[I dunno, wasn't the prerequisite of being Phoenix Wright's sidekick that you had to be a cute little pre-pubescent girl?]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Phoenix gives Adachi one of those hearty pats on the shoulder, interrupting before he can add anything else. Adachi is certainly not cute, little, pre-pubescent or a girl, but hey, Phoenix is a flexible guy, and not one to complain.]

No problem, madam. Me and my sidekick here will check it out.

[He tips his hat again.]

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Thus relieved, the little old lady toddles off.

Adachi blinks at the swinging doors for a moment before shrugging Phoenix's hand off.]

I'm not going into a well with you.

[Oh, what, because there are other people he'd go into a well with? Adachi spits out the last word like it's vile and absolutely preposterous.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Gonna go by yourself? Pretty brave, partner.

[He gives an impressed whistle.]

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Adachi never thought he'd be making this unimpressed face - it's an expression better suited for people like Dojima-san, but there he is, making it.]

I'm not going in at all. Nuh-uh. No way.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Phoenix stares for a moment, then shrugs nonchalantly.]

Guess me and the teleporter will go without ya'.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
T-teleporter?! You mean that dinky fashion watch?

[He makes a grab for the wrist.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
[For not looking at the other man, Phoenix dodges with surprising ease.]

Haha, not so fast, partner. You might accidentally end us up some place bad.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[Thankfully, he recovers before tumbling into another fall (he's had enough of those lately). Adachi narrows his eyes.]

I'm not really all that worried - I mean, hey, if I get attacked by rabid cavemen or something, I can just run and let them take it out on you.

[Nope. Not really the type to let go of things, no.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
...I see...

[So you're that kind of person, huh, officer?]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just interested in finding the . You don't have to join me.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Was it just him, or did his voice seem yellow for a second there-]

But you have the transporter. That's as good as blackmail.

[Adachi mutters it sourly, running a hand through his hair. He's almost beginning to think that letting those brats drag him home would've been a good ide- ...Wait, no. Nope. This was still better, sadly enough.]

Go on. Ladies first.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
...Actually, I have no idea where the well is.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[With a huff of frustration - didn't think he'd be making those Dojima-like sounds either, Adachi sidesteps Phoenix (but not without a maybe-intentional shove at the shoulder), making his way down the main street of the town. It's not a big place - other than this one lane, there isn't much to the settlement, and at the very end, the road curves off to the right, where there is a small clearing with a few stray blades of grass sticking out from the otherwise-parched land. There, in the center, is a stereotypical stone well.

Adachi leans over it, whistling low.]

Pretty dark in there. Think you can shine some light down there with your sheriff star?

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
What are you talking about? I'm no sheriff.

[After a quick glance around, Phoenix picks up a rope to the side of the well. This'll have to do. He starts tying it around one of the posts, triple knotting it for security. (Phoenix certainly doesn't trust this guy to hold it, or even keep watch on the rope.)]

Alright. I think that should do it.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adachi is still looking down the dark shaft with distaste. Environments like that...usually don't bode very well, and he's seen the movies - the police officer or authority figure always gets killed first. Nuh-uh.]

You're...gonna go down first, right? I'll be right behind you.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You can stay, y'know.

[Taking hold of the rope, Phoenix heaves one foot onto the stone edge, tugging on the rope. Nice and secure. He swings his other leg over, starting to lower himself into the well.]

...Don't just shoot into the well if you hear things, though.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Not while my only ticket outta here is strapped to your wrist.

[Waiting until Phoenix is a good distance down the rope, Adachi carefully climbs over the ledge (falling down is not his preferred method of travel when he can help it), and slowly slides down the rope. It's difficult to measure distance in the dark where he can't see, so he can't help it if he slides too far down, and his heel nearly knocks Phoenix's hat clear off his head.]

Whoa- whoops, is that you?

[His voice echoes when he speaks, and judging from how the sound carries, this well is deeper than it looked.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oof.

[His hat doesn't fall off this time, but it does get knocked askew - not to mention, a light is suddenly coming from the mouth of that face on his pin. Kind of like a miner's hat.]

Hey. How about that.

[With a laugh, he just continues downward. It's a good thirty seconds before his feet hit the ground, splashing in a small puddle of water. Huh. So there's gotta be water in here somewhere. It didn't look like that town had gotten much rain.]

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-22 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Heads up!

[Without waiting for Phoenix to confirm that he had stepped away, Adachi slides the rest of the way down, faster now that he's sure there's a ground to slide down to. The rapidness of it splashes the water to their knees.]

Gross, there's still water down here? I thought that old hag said-

[He was about to lean against a wall to brush the excess water off, or to at least roll his pants legs up, but as always, Adachi chooses the wrong option. The particular patch of wall he chooses isn't a wall at all but the very opening that water should have entered the bottom of the well from, and he goes down with another splash.]
