fess up, vico

While Adamo certainly had a habit of keeping people waiting, he was still a man of his word. He and Vico didn't have any missions to worry about for a good few days, so he took the opportunity to buy that wine he had mentioned to his partner a few weeks back. (Their previous missions had actually treated him pretty well, financially, but that was probably because he had sticky fingers when handling the nobler targets.) Vico had picky tastes, though, and the bottle he bought probably wasn't up to his par, but it would have to do. It wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive.

"Vico?" Adamo called as he emerged from the tunnel entrance, turning the corner. The bureau was always quiet by midday, the assassins usually away doing their assigned duties. (Except for a few unlucky ones in the armory who were cleaning. They must've angered Machiavelli.)

Vico's expression grew just the tiniest bit devious. "Amico, we don't have a target to track - you're going to be the practice target, I meant."

heheheh

Looking put out, Vico heaved an overly-dramatic sigh, leaning back against the desk. "So uncooperative - and you call me a no fun? I suppose we have little choice but to drink your wine after all."

Tilting his head to one side, Vico innocently asked, "Have you ever had a target who just stood there in conveniently-placed locations? You must be a lucky one, Adamo."

"That is fair - I can agree to that. But whether or not you can catch me is another matter entirely," Vico said, smirking as he pulled on the armor he had pulled off temporarily and yanking his hood up over his eternally-mussed hair, casting half his face into shadow. Just as he was about to step away from the table, though, a few familiar voices sounded from the armory room - they were not the only recruits idling about today, it seemed.

"Ah, you two have a mission today?" asked one of the other recruits, a dark-haired woman that the Maestro had saved off the streets in the northern district near the Vatican, named Emiliana. Her friend, the infamous brunette Bianca, surveyed the scene with quick with and steadfast eyes to match it. Like Adamo and Vico, the two women were often seen together, commonly assigned to the same missions given their working partnership.

"Or training perhaps?" Bianca questioned, crossing her arms with a smirk. She was a good Assassin, but had the reputation of being rather...upfront about many things, and had a habit of teasing the other recruits rather mercilessly when it came down to it. None were spared of her wrath. "The little conquerer and his friend?"

"Don't call me that!" Vico snapped, frowning.

NO

"In the lull of one," Bianca answered, hanging back while Emiliana stepped forwar, amiable where the other was more reserved. "The target is in the middle of Mass, and el Maestro does not think we are capable enough to attack him there." She waved a hand, clearing the air of such a preposterous notion. "Something about 'having experience' and 'knowing how difficult it is,'" she droned, no doubt repeating his exact words, but since she was here, and not causing chaos in the middle of a hundred priests, it was obvious she still took the Grandmaster's advice to heart.

A rare occurence - Vico smiled slightly as Emiliana approached, and as their partners were making small talk, she glanced over at the desk he was standing at, initiating some sort of quiet conversation on her own. She was certainly the least boisterous out of the four of them, and Vico one of the loudest, but he matched her tone and volume easily, and when they finished, she looked up just as Vico did the same, prompting, "Come on then, Adamo. Let's not flirt with the brotherhood too," he said, rolling his eyes and dragging his friend by the elbow away from the scene.

Vico didn't turn around to see their reactions, but he could hear Bianca's snort of amusement even as they made their way out of the hideout, letting go only when they were outside. "Even the ones you have no chance of getting, Adamo?" he asked, rolling his eyes as he dropped down the first ledge.

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Luckily enough for Vico, his back was turned to Adamo, and even as he flipped around to climb down to the next roof and then the next, he had the walls he was facing to hide his frown. He was blessed with the characteristic of not flushing up to the ears when embarrassed, but anyone looking right at his face would have been able to tell the shift in color on his cheeks. "I hate to tell you this, then, but madonna Bianca's type is a little closer to your tastes than you might think."

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahead of Adamo, Vico had already dropped down to the lowest ledge before reaching street-level, but he pulled himself back up, balancing precariously on his elbows on the edge of the platform Adamo was standing on, and raised a brow. "I mean, Emiliana told me that she likes visiting the Rosa in Fiore just as much as you do."

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Vico chuckled, dropping back down. It wasn't often that he could lord this sort of knowledge over the self-proclaimed-much-more-worldly Adamo, and he clearly reveled in the advantage. "Oh, she was with the courtesans all right."

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Vico smirked. "Reject you already, has she?" He clapped a hand on Adamo's shoulder. "Don't worry, maybe now the two of you can go visit together - I am sure you'd like that."

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Vico instantly pulled a face, showing how entirely not nice he fancied that idea. Bianca, at times, struck him as more of a man than a woman, and imagining all three of them, including the (un)fortunate courtesan sandwiched between, was a trail of thought he quickly derailed himself from, for his own sake. "I pity the poor woman who would have to serve both of you at once."

[identity profile] fightfair.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe you would," Vico shot back, scoffing as he did the same. He had left most of his heavy armor back at Tiber Island, and for how lightly he was dressed, he could have easily passed for a civilian, save for the less-common hood that sat, pulled back, on his shoulders. Of course, a true assassin didn't have trouble blending in no matter what he was carrying on his body, but the two of them were in no need of going to such lengths right now. "Maybe you can ask the courtesan if you can have a turn in the middle. Or maybe she can doll you up, teach you the tricks of her trade. You would probably be of more use to us there!"
