How about an event?

Fourth wall? What fourth wall?

Suddenly, characters are aware. Of what? Of everything. They know they come from a book, game, anime, what have you; they know they're being played ~~badly~~ by their muns; they know that hey, you're just doing this to embarrass me, aren't you? So better watch out; characters are busting through that fourth wall! Hopefully they can handle the knowledge... and hopefully you can handle your character.

[That might be because that's all he's saying.]

Look, at least I take care of Nanako-chan sometimes.

[Oooh, low blow.]

[Another smack.]

[Well, at least it looks like that smack hurt. Adachi crouches down, hands over his head. He seems to be muttering something under his breath (probably to his player) about how that totally wasn't uncalled for.]

[Good, because that was low.]

You could definitely use more tact, too.

[Adachi glares up at him.]

You just wait until I blow up on you. I'll show you tact.

...Don't remind me about that.

Not looking forward to it?

Are you?

I asked first.

[A pause, then a nonchalant shrug, looking away.]

Don't care. Just a hassle.

[Adachi looks away to the side. Under his breath, with a small laugh:]

...Just a hassle, huh.

Well then, better get this over with! Don't know why they're stalling about it!

Obviously there's no trouble on this end. It's just a hassle.

[A frown, and Dojima flicks his forehead.]

Fighting's a hassle.

[A hand comes up, swatting the hand away.]

Attacking the front of my head now, Dojima-san?

You have a thick skull. You'll live.

[Adachi grabs the hand, then, under the pretenses of keeping his forehead safe.]

I don't know, with all this abuse I keep on getting...

[A roll of his eyes.]

I'll let up if you get me some coffee.

[His grip loosens.]

You're the one who's good at making it. All this time, you've been making me do something you were already better at! I feel so betrayed!

[Dojima's probably trying to hide his grin. He knows he's better at making it - probably is just picking on poor Adachi.]

So dramatic.

[A slow smile spreads over his face in response to that. He can't keep up his theatrics when Dojima looks like that.]

Tell you what - I'll make a compromise.

And what's that?

If we make it through the fight, I'll make you a cup.

[Dojima pauses.]

...Alright. Holding you to that.

[Then he smiles again.]

If it sucks, I'll give you a lesson in making coffee. That's my side of the deal.
