[Phoenix looks over the hill with a quieted whistle, scratching his head. The T-rex takes a step forward, and it's lucky for them that it's facing away anyways. The triceratops roars at it defensively, and even the T-rex looks threatened.]

Today is full of things you don't see everyday. We should probably get off this hill, though. Wouldn't want them to see us.

[Already ahead of you, man. Adachi slides down the hill, careful not to make a sound, surprisingly quiet, if looking a little disturbed.]

You've gotta be joking. First it's the TV world, then it's Jurassic Park? Don't tell me we're jumping channels now - pretty sure this isn't what the inside of my head looks like.

[Which means... Adachi turns to Phoenix, incredulous.]

...Are you...some kind of dinosaur freak?

[The once-lawyer is more leisurely, just stepping down the hill slowly. He only catches about half of the ranting, given the sudden quietness. The roars only get quieter too - a good sign. They aren't being followed. Phoenix stops when he's turned to, raising an eyebrow at the man's question.]

...I'm pretty sure I'm just human.

[His eyes narrow.]

That has nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure what me possibly being a dinosaur freak has to do with it.

Because. This-

[He waves an arm around them.]

-Is the inside of your head, pal.

[Forgive him. Adachi's a little more used to worlds of the psychological nature. The fact that this place has a bottom rather than some swirling abyss is already a big change for him.]

[Yeah, Phoenix is just staring now.]

Did you lose too much oxygen when you were buried, officer?

[Withdrawing, Adachi gives Phoenix a questionable look, the line of his mouth wavering. Maybe Namatame had gotten to this guy, too. Those victims never seemed to remember being thrown in. With a nervous laugh, Adachi rubs his neck.]

...Come to think of it, that was more like last week's episode of 'Lost in the Wild!' Sheesh, I guess all that sand was worse than I thought.

Hey, my daughter loves that show.

[Back on track there without so much as a hitch. Just keep walking and avoiding that screeching and roaring. Now that he thinks about it, it stopped - did the T-rex win, maybe? (That could be bad for them.)]

[PSYCHE LOCK x 9000. Oh wait. You don't have that ability anymore, Phoenix.]

...Daughter? A real family man, huh?

[Unshaven, dotes on his daughter. Reminds Adachi of someone else he knows.]

[...SHUT UP.]

Haha, I guess. It's just me and her.

...Wife died in a hit-and-run car accident?

[That'd just be too uncanny.]

[Blink.]

Now where'd you get an idea like that? Hah!

[Phoenix gives him a hearty slap on the shoulder, returning his hands to his hoodie pockets.]

I never married.

[Seriously, those slaps. He hasn't eaten or slept well in a long time, cut him some slack here. Adachi stumbles, rubbing his shoulder after recovering. Of course, he jumps to conclusions - this is probably one of those irresponsible guys who knocked a girl up and got stuck with their kid after she couldn't afford it. Maybe his wife had...unsavory choices in employment. Definitely one of those.]

...Oh. Heh, just...got stuck with a daughter out of the blue, huh? That's gotta be tough, raising her on her whooooooaaaaaa!

[The impromptu interruption is due to the fact that the ground suddenly shakes, as if there were an earthquake. The way it did in Jurassic Park when a T-rex was approaching.]

[Welp, no time to get into the sentimental story about Trucy Wright. (He probably wouldn't indulge all the information, anyway - or would be as vague as possible.) Quick to act, he grabs Adachi by the arm and pulls him into some forestry. They can't afford to stay out in the open.]

Thought I saw a cave around here somewhere...

[A harsh whisper. The quakes become more pronounced.]

A cave?! There's a man-eating dinosaur coming this way and you want to walk into a dead end?

A t-rex won't fit in there. Though I guess it'd be bad if it collapsed on us...

[With a shrug, he treks along anyway, no longer dragging Adachi. Phoenix figures he'll follow.]

[Adachi doesn't like following all that much, unless he does it with another purpose in mind. Though he has probably less of an idea of where he's going, he falls into step with Phoenix, walking headstrong despite his darting attention.

Soon enough, a cave comes into view - just small enough that a T-rex's face wouldn't even be able to fit in, although an adult human could crawl into the opening with ease. Adachi kicks away some of the shrubbery hiding the entrance, frowning to himself.]

I don't even wanna know what kind of tropical bugs are living in there.

What's a bug bite in comparison to a dinosaur bite, huh?

[With a laugh, he helps with the shrubbery before crawling in. It's dark, and a little damp, but hey, Phoenix has plenty reason to want to live, Trucy being one of them. After getting cozy, his arm pops out of the cave mouth, waving Adachi in.]

Better get comfy. I think I hear that thing roaring.

[Well, it's a mad scramble from there. Adachi crowds into the dark cave. There isn't much room to spare. Adachi finds himself shoulder-to-shoulder with Phoenix, crouching in the shadows with baited breath. The T-rex finally arrives in their vicinity, though all they can see of itt is the bottom of its ankle as it pauses in front of the cave. Judging from the sound of its breathing, it looks around before finally shuffling off. Adachi lets out a sigh of relief.

Then he fidgets.]

What are- ...are you poking m- haha! S-Stop that!

[Even the ever-so-collected Phoenix breathes a sigh of relief. It doesn't mean they're off the hook, but it shouldn't come back for a while.

That is, unless they draw its attention with noise or something.

Phoenix turns to Adachi, raising an eyebrow.]

I'm not poking y-

[He stares quite obviously over Adachi's shoulder, blinking a few times. Surprise is hardly an expression on his face, but now... No, he still looks indifferent, never mind.]

If it's not you, then who- argh!

[He fidgets again, this time elbowing Phoenix unwittingly in the chest.]

I said stop it!

[Phoenix may feel a poke of his own at the back of his neck, if he's not too busy nursing that elbow-induced bruise, that is.]

[That's it - Phoenix is pulling out The Voice. (While rubbing that sore spot.) His other hand points behind Adachi. (Completely disregarding the poking on his neck. For now.)]

HOLD IT!

[The poking stops, and now with the less frenzied chance to see who's behind the harassment, it's much easier to make out the face of... the very hairy face of what seems to be...]
