A wild EVENT has appeared!

LOST: The Fagsona Episode

That's right, folks. You're stranded on a small tropical island (making run-ins more likely), with the remnants of a plane lying on the beach. Your task: Survive. Maybe you'll find other stranded passengers on the shore. Maybe those huge ass coconut crabs remind you of a puzzle, professah. Maybe you'll even fine some sort of time-warping tunnel that'll teleport you right onto the S. S. Enterprise in the jungle - who knows?

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
You have no idea, officer.

[And Phoenix just grins at that.]

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, then he's with like company, Adachi supposes. With a similarly ambiguous smile, Adachi slides his hands into his pockets (euch, more sand), and starts treading away from the shore, towards the greenery. There's nothing at the beach, after all - nothing except the now-empty grape juice bottle sitting in the sand. (God, and he litters too.]

You coming? You probably should. I can't just leave a civvie out here in the middle of nowhere to fend for himself.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, civvie, huh? Fair enough.

[Phoenix swoops up the bottle, his other hand slipping into his hoodie pocket. You never know when you might need a bottle, after all. Might hold .]

Who knows what's out there, anyway.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
[With at least enough courtesy to wait for Phoenix to catch up, Adachi gives an amused shrug, pushing away the first few branches of leaves in his way to duck into the jungle. The air is humid here, and it's not long before he shrugs off his coat, tying it around his waist, and rolls up his sleeves.]

Haha, what are you expecting? Dinosaurs or something? Hate to break it to you, but Jurasssic Park is just a-

[Screeeeeech. That didn't sound human.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Blink. It's like he jinxed it. That sounded an awful lot like the Jurassic Park's dinosaur sound effects, didn't it? Maybe this is an imitation island of it. That's be pretty cool, huh?

Nonetheless, Phoenix looks surprised.]

Huh. Wonder what that was.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
P-Probably just a bird.

[Tirelessly, bravely, courageously, probably stupidly, he presses on. He may or may not jump a little needlessly when a dragonfly buzzes past his ear, though, stumbling back into Phoenix and knocking his unfortunate hat off.]

Yikes! What was that?! Did you hear that?

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
[There is a slight frown as Phoenix stops to pick up his hat. It is a rather important article of clothing to him. He dusts off the dirt and leaves from it, putting it back snug on his head.]

A bot fly, maybe?

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Scratching at his cheek, Adachi at least has the decency to look sheepish about such an overreaction. He steps away from Phoenix, eyes still darting around the trees and shrubs.]

You think? ...Yeah, you're probably right. Sorry about that - just had one too many run-ins with near-death today.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
They lay eggs in your skin, y'know.

[With a laugh, Phoenix goes on ahead.]

What run-ins would that be?

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adachi looks grossed out, all right. He catches up to Phoenix with a stumble, looking comically nervous.]

Oh, you know - getting buried alive in the sand, washing up on shore on some deserted island. That kinda thing.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[Optimistically, even if there's a slight dip in his brow that betrays the tone.]

Heheh, well, we've all got our ups and downs! Who knows - maybe we'll stumble on something really awesome here. Like a year's free pass for a paid holiday from work. Or a city made of gold and sea urchin.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Sea urchin? Wouldn't that hurt?

[But Phoenix just shrugs it off, trekking forward. Except... that screech from earlier sounds again, and it's definitely closer, and it's followed by a roar. Now that's odd.]

...Hm. Two dinosaurs?

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Like one wasn't enough.]

T-two?! No way. Maybe they're...fighting! They won't notice us at all.

[Though he waves one dismissive hand, the other slides to Adachi's waist, where there's still a gun hidden under his jacket. Ordinary bullets probably won't do much against a fully-armored reptile, but at least...they can get rid of the bot flies? In a show of bravado (or maybe just to hide that queasy look on his face from the other man), Adachi forges on ahead.

He stops abruptly as they near the top of what seems to be a hill, though. Right below them, barely a few feet away, is, in fact, what looks like a full-fledged DINOSAUR BATTLE. The T-rex and Triceratops are circling around each other.]

...Are you kidding me?

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Phoenix looks over the hill with a quieted whistle, scratching his head. The T-rex takes a step forward, and it's lucky for them that it's facing away anyways. The triceratops roars at it defensively, and even the T-rex looks threatened.]

Today is full of things you don't see everyday. We should probably get off this hill, though. Wouldn't want them to see us.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Already ahead of you, man. Adachi slides down the hill, careful not to make a sound, surprisingly quiet, if looking a little disturbed.]

You've gotta be joking. First it's the TV world, then it's Jurassic Park? Don't tell me we're jumping channels now - pretty sure this isn't what the inside of my head looks like.

[Which means... Adachi turns to Phoenix, incredulous.]

...Are you...some kind of dinosaur freak?

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
[The once-lawyer is more leisurely, just stepping down the hill slowly. He only catches about half of the ranting, given the sudden quietness. The roars only get quieter too - a good sign. They aren't being followed. Phoenix stops when he's turned to, raising an eyebrow at the man's question.]

...I'm pretty sure I'm just human.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
[His eyes narrow.]

That has nothing to do with it.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure what me possibly being a dinosaur freak has to do with it.

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Because. This-

[He waves an arm around them.]

-Is the inside of your head, pal.

[Forgive him. Adachi's a little more used to worlds of the psychological nature. The fact that this place has a bottom rather than some swirling abyss is already a big change for him.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, Phoenix is just staring now.]

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Did you lose too much oxygen when you were buried, officer?

[identity profile] implausibility.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Withdrawing, Adachi gives Phoenix a questionable look, the line of his mouth wavering. Maybe Namatame had gotten to this guy, too. Those victims never seemed to remember being thrown in. With a nervous laugh, Adachi rubs his neck.]

...Come to think of it, that was more like last week's episode of 'Lost in the Wild!' Sheesh, I guess all that sand was worse than I thought.

[identity profile] acehobo.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, my daughter loves that show.

[Back on track there without so much as a hitch. Just keep walking and avoiding that screeching and roaring. Now that he thinks about it, it stopped - did the T-rex win, maybe? (That could be bad for them.)]
